Good ergonomics isn't about buying the most expensive chair — it's about setting up what you have correctly. Work through this checklist once and your body will thank you.
Screen
The top of your monitor should sit at or just below eye level, about an arm's length away. If you're on a laptop, a stand plus an external keyboard is the single best upgrade you can make.
A monitor arm makes this effortless and frees the space under your screen.
Chair
Set the seat height so your feet are flat and your knees are roughly level with your hips. Adjust the lumbar support to fill the curve of your lower back, and bring the armrests to a height where your shoulders relax.
Keyboard & wrists
Your elbows should rest near 90 degrees with wrists neutral — not bent up or down. An under-desk keyboard tray or a sit-stand desk at the right height gets you there.
Move
The best posture is your next posture. Alternate sitting and standing, and take short breaks. Equipment sets the stage; movement does the rest.
